GHK-Cu is a complex of the naturally occurring tripeptide GHK and copper. Research has explored extracellular-matrix signalling and skin biology in cells, animals and limited human studies.
Areas of research interest
Current evidence
The evidence is mainly mechanistic and preclinical. A small randomised human study after laser resurfacing found no significant between-group difference in several objective measures, while a registered wound study does not yet constitute a published result.
Important limitations
Cell and animal models do not establish human benefit. The human study was small and formulation-specific, and findings from products containing GHK-Cu cannot automatically be attributed to GHK-Cu alone.
